BTS's Jungkook Becomes 1st K-Pop Soloist To Hit 200 Million Views With 3 MVs From Same Album
BTS’s Jungkook has achieved an impressive new feat on YouTube! According to BIGHIT MUSIC, on August 24 at 2:24 a.m. KST, Jungkook’s music video for his 2023 solo hit “Standing Next to You” surpassed 200 million views on YouTube. With this latest achievement, all three of Jungkook’s music videos from his solo debut album “GOLDEN”—“Seven” (featuring Latto), “3D” (featuring Jack Harlow), and “Standing Next to You”—have now reached 200 million views, making him the first K-pop soloist ever to hit the 200 million mark with three official music videos from the same album. Jungkook originally released the music video for “Standing Next to You” on November 3, 2023 at 1 p.m. KST, meaning that it took just over one year, nine months, and 20 days to reach the milestone. HUNTR/X's "Golden" Becomes 1st K-Pop Song To Top UK's Official Singles Chart For 3 Weeks
HUNTR/X’s “Golden” continues its record-breaking streak at No. 1 in the United Kingdom! For the week of August 21 to 27, “Golden”—the smash hit by the fictional girl group HUNTR/X from the film “KPop Demon Hunters” (sung by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami)—remained No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart (widely regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in the United States) for the second week in a row. “Golden” has now spent a total of three non-consecutive weeks at the top of the chart, extending its own record as the K-pop song with the most weeks at No. 1. Meanwhile, several other songs from the soundtrack of “KPop Demon Hunters” rose to new peaks on the Official Singles Chart this week. Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” (sung by Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, U-KISS’s Kevin Woo, and samUIL Lee) reached a new all-time high of No. 3, while Saja Boys’ “Your Idol” climbed to No. 6 and TWICE’s Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung’s version of “Takedown” jumped to No. 31. Finally, TWICE’s 2024 hit “Strategy” (which was released last December but is included on the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack) leaped to a new peak of No. 35. Red Velvet's Wendy Announces Dates And Cities For 1st World Tour "W:EALIVE"
Mark your calendars for Red Velvet’s Wendy’s first solo world tour! On August 22 at midnight KST, Wendy officially announced the dates and cities for her upcoming world tour “W:EALIVE.” After kicking things off with two nights of concerts in Seoul on September 20 and 21, Wendy will perform in Taipei on October 3, Hong Kong on October 5, and Tokyo on October 22 and 23. Wendy will then head stateside to perform in San Francisco on October 30, Pasaeena on November 1, Sugar Land on November 4, Chicago on November 6, Brooklyn on November 9, Washington, D.C. on November 11, and Atlanta on November 13. The following month, she will return to Asia, where her tour will take her to Bangkok on December 14, Kuala Lumpur on December 20, Macau on January 10, and Manila on January 17. The 2025 K-World Dream Awards has awarded the best of K-pop! On August 22, the ceremony for the 2025 K-World Dream Awards was held in Seoul with Jun Hyun Moo and Jang Do Yeon, and a star-studded lineup of artists and presenters were present for the special event. Stray Kids won big with four awards including the Best Artist Award, while IVE also took home four awards including the Best Artist Award and the Solo Popularity Award for Jang Won Young.
