<p>The post ended with the user expressing heartbreak and asking for advice on whether to return the money. However, as the post spread, netizens fixated on the clue that the ex was “someone people in their 30s or older would recognize by name.” Speculation intensified when commenters floated the initials ‘ㅇㅈㅇ,’ leading to baseless rumors targeting male celebrities with upcoming weddings—including Lee Jang Woo and On Ju Wan.</p>

<html><head></head><body><p>TVXQ’s Yunho recently sat down with Arena Homme Plus and opened up about his latest project!</p>
<p>Yunho stars in Disney+’s recently released series “Low Life” and has been earning praise for his portrayal of Jang Beol Gu. Based on a webtoon, “Low Life” is a crime drama set in 1977 that follows a group of down-on-their-luck country folks as they chase after a sunken treasure ship beneath the sea.</p>
<p>In an interview that followed the Arena photo shoot, Yunho was asked about his mindset while preparing for the role. He shared, “This is what the character description says: ‘Beol Gu, all style and no substance.’ But the truth is, Beol Gu has circumstances that others don’t know about. He has been treated like a scoundrel in the neighborhood his whole life.”</p>
<p>He continued, “But Beol Gu has a strong inner resolve, like, ‘Someday I’ll succeed no matter what and prove myself.’ I wanted that side of Beol Gu’s mind to really come through.”</p>

When asked how he feels about this unexpected success, Yunho replied, “When I first heard the news, I was actually in Japan. I was pretty taken aback. Honestly, I’m still a bit dazed.”</p>

I’ve been doing the same work for 20 years, and it’s still difficult and exhausting. But when you endure, good things definitely come back to you.”</p>
<p>He added, “I’m convinced that everyone gets their golden moment eventually. If things get tough, it’s okay to rest—as long as you come back. And to do that, you have to take good care of yourself.”</p>

<p>On July 24, the Financial Crimes Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that it began a search and seizure operation around 9 a.m. at HYBE’s headquarters in Yongsan district of Seoul.</p>
<p>HYBE’s chairman Bang Si Hyuk is currently under suspicion of violating the Capital Markets Act by misleading existing investors such as venture capital (VC) firms during HYBE’s 2019 IPO (initial public offering) process. He allegedly falsely claimed there were no plans to go public, leading the investors to sell their shares to a special purpose company (SPC) established by a private equity fund, then proceeded with the IPO.</p>
<p>It was previously <a target="_blank" href="https://www.soompi.com/article/1758512wpp/hybe-shares-brief-update-regarding-ongoing-financial-investigation">reported</a> that the Capital Market Investigation Deliberation Committee (CMIDC) suspects that Bang Si Hyuk and three senior executives, along with one aide, set up the private equity fund, with Bang Si Hyuk reportedly profiting approximately 200 billion won (approximately $146 million).</p>
<p>Police applied for a search and seizure warrant for HYBE’s headquarters on July 17. However, a dispute over investigative jurisdiction arose on July 21 when the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office, having received the case from financial authorities, assigned it to the Financial Supervisory Service’s (FSS) special judicial police. With the police initiating the search and seizure, it is speculated that they may now be taking the lead in the investigation.</p>

<p>When asked if the time she spent alone was sufficient nourishment for her group activities, as she’s going through a busy period with the start of BLACKPINK’s full-group activities and the release of their new song “<a target="_blank" href="https://www.soompi.com/article/1757537wpp/watch-blackpink-teases-long-awaited-new-music-with-mysterious-teaser">JUMP</a>,” Jennie&nbsp;replied, “While preparing my solo full-length album ‘Ruby,’ I learned and felt so much. <p>With the name Jennie being heard everywhere these days, the singer was also asked about her name being featured in one of her biggest hits, “<a target="_blank" href="https://www.soompi.com/article/1717886wpp/watch-blackpinks-jennie-announces-release-date-for-first-studio-album-ruby">like JENNIE</a>.” She commented, “In ‘like JENNIE,’ the name ‘Jennie’ is just a symbol. I made this song to convey the message that anyone can love themselves and shine in their own way, and they can use their own name [in the song]. ‘Jennie’ was only used because my name happens to be Jennie. I hope everyone who sings this song can feel that same sense of empowerment.”</p>
<p>Jennie added, “Even I gained confidence while singing the song. The path I’ve walked hasn’t been easy, but it reminded me that I’m heading in the right direction and that I’m doing well. It’s a song that resonates positively [with the listener].”</p>

<p>The rankings were determined through a data analysis of the media coverage, participation, interaction, and community indexes of 100 actors who appeared in dramas, movies, or OTT content released between June 22 and July 22.</p>
<p>Choo Young Woo, who is currently starring in the popular drama “Head Over Heels,” topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 7,694,868.</p>
<p>Three of the next four spots on the list went to the stars of “Squid Game 3”:<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp; </span>Lee Jung Jae took second place with a brand reputation index of 7,050,788, while Lee Byung Hun followed close behind at third with a score of 6,578,206 and Jo Yuri came in fifth with a score of 4,322,075.</p>
<p>Park Bo Gum, who recently starred in the hit drama “Good Boy,” ranked fourth for July with a brand reputation index of 4,663,633.</p>

<p>Based on the webtoon of the same name, “S LINE” is a fantasy thriller in which red lines suddenly appear above people’s heads, connecting them to people with whom they have had physical relationships and thus revealing sensitive personal information overnight. This red line is called the “S Line” and can only be seen but not physically touched.</p>
<p>Lee Soo Hyuk plays Ji Wook, a detective who is simultaneously investigating a murder case and the secret behind the S Line. Lee Da Hee plays Gyu Jin, a high school teacher who, despite her attractive appearance, has no S Lines at all. OH MY GIRL’s Arin stars as Hyun Heup, a high school student who has been able to see the S Line since birth.</p>
<p>In an interview following the photo shoot, the cast members shared behind-the-scenes stories, their thoughts on the drama, and their experience being invited to the 8th annual Cannes International Series Festival.</p>
<p>When asked what the main appeal of “S LINE” is, Lee Soo Hyuk shared,”The premise itself—people being connected by a red string if they’ve had sexual relations—is quite provocative. It’s fascinating to see how people react when they discover someone’s secret private life. Even if you set aside the ‘S Line’ concept, it’s worth watching just to observe the duality of human nature.”</p>
<p>Lee Da Hee added, “I’d describe it as a series that reveals all the raw emotions humans keep hidden—their instincts, desires, and everything they conceal inside.”</p>

<p>When asked how she approached the character of Hyun Heup, a girl with the unique ability to see the S Lines, Arin shared, “Since my character is the only one in the story with this ability, I really thought hard about how to make sure she didn’t feel out of place. I tried to find a way to blend her in well with the other characters while still highlighting what makes her special. Hyun Heup is very different from who I am in real life, so I tried to bring out aspects of myself that are the opposite of my usual personality.”</p>
<p>She continued, “I communicated a lot with the director. <p>On July 21, MODHAUS addressed the controversy, stating that they are in the process of verifying the facts and thoroughly reviewing the allegations. The agency announced that they will “temporarily suspend Hwang Bo Min Gyeol’s activities” and that he will resume his activities and join idntt’s second unit, yesweare, “once the facts are clearly established.” As a result, idntt’s first unit, unevermet, will debut as a seven-member group without Hwang Bo Min Gyeol.</p>

<html><head></head><body><p class="first:mt-0 my-4 last:mb-0">Kim Geon Woo, who is currently appearing on Mnet’s boy group survival program “BOYS II PLANET,” has personally addressed the controversy regarding his alleged past behavior.</p>
<p>Previously on July 16, ahead of the premiere of “BOYS II PLANET,” a post with allegations about contestant Kim Geon Woo began spreading on online communities. The post claimed that while Kim Geon Woo was a trainee at an entertainment company, he acted like a “king,” received favoritism, went on private trips with certain staff members, and embezzled company funds. The author of the post also alleged that Kim Geon Woo verbally abused and personally attacked some trainees, claiming to be a victim themselves and attaching medical records showing they had received psychiatric treatment.</p>
<p>As controversy continued to grow, on July 21, Kim Geon Woo released the following handwritten apology:</p>

<p>We are releasing this statement in response to a series of posts circulating on online communities regarding our company and our trainees.</p>
<p>Kim Geon Woo and Kang Woo Jin, who are currently appearing on “BOYS II PLANET” as individual trainees, are trainees under WAKEONE.</p>
<p>Trainee Kim Geon Woo was in the process of applying and being screened for the program before signing a trainee contract with WAKEONE.</p>
<p>Since he had already been preparing to appear on the program as an individual trainee, it was difficult for him to participate as part of a team with the existing WAKEONE trainees due to scheduling conflicts. After discussing with Kim Geon Woo, we decided that he would appear on the program as an individual trainee.</p>
<p>Trainee Kang Woo Jin had been developing his skills at WAKEONE with the goal of becoming a singer-songwriter.</p>
<p>There were differences in musical concepts between him and the existing trainees who were preparing for the program, and he also did not have professional idol training experience. Therefore, we determined that it would be more appropriate for him to appear as an individual trainee rather than as part of the WAKEONE team.</p>
<p>These decisions were made with consideration for each trainee’s individuality and musical concept, but we sincerely apologize for causing confusion and concern to the program’s production team, viewers, and fans as a result.</p>

<p>On the morning of July 18, the Supreme Court’s First Division upheld the original verdict, confirming a sentence of six months in prison suspended for one year for Yang Hyun Suk, who was indicted on charges of violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Crimes (threatening).</p>
<p>Following the court’s ruling, YG Entertainment released the following official statement from Yang Hyun Suk:</p>
<blockquote><p>Although I am disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling, I humbly accept the decision.</p>
<p>While I was acquitted of the initial charge of “retaliatory threats” in both the first and second trials, the prosecution changed the indictment during the second trial to the unfamiliar charge of “coercion of an interview.” As a result, after a long legal battle lasting five years and eight months, I have now received the Supreme Court’s final verdict.</p>
<p>From now on, I will devote myself to my duties with even greater caution and a stronger sense of responsibility.</p>

<p class="first:mt-0 my-4 last:mb-0">Previously in August 2016, Yang Hyun Suk was brought to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.soompi.com/article/1473400wpp/yang-hyun-suk-indicted-for-threatening-informant-in-case-involving-b-i-b-i-indicted-on-suspicions-of-drug-use">trial</a> on charges of attempting to persuade and threaten Han Seo Hee, a former trainee who had been arrested by police on drug charges, in order to cover up the investigation after she testified about iKON member B.I allegedly purchasing drugs.</p>
<p>In the first trial held in December 2022, the court <a target="_blank" href="https://www.soompi.com/article/1559681wpp/court-rules-yang-hyun-suk-not-guilty-at-first-trial-for-threatening-informant-in-drug-case">acquitted</a> Yang Hyun Suk, citing the victim’s inconsistent statements and the lack of direct evidence to prove that Yang Hyun Suk threatened the victim.</p>
<p class="first:mt-0 my-4 last:mb-0">During the second trial, the prosecution filed to amend the indictment to add the charge of “coercion of an interview” as an alternative criminal fact, and the court accepted this. The court, as in the first trial, found Yang Hyun Suk not guilty of retaliatory threats. However, regarding the newly added charge of coercion of an interview, the court found him guilty and, in November 2023, sentenced Yang Hyun Suk to six months in prison suspended for one year. Yang Hyun Suk appealed the second trial’s verdict, leading to a Supreme Court review and final decision to uphold the verdict.</p>

<p>“Our Unwritten Seoul” tells the story of two twin sisters with polar-opposite personalities who lead completely different lives. Park Bo Young plays identical twins Yoo Mi Ji and Yoo Mi Rae, who look alike but are different in every other way.</p>
<p>After the shoot, Park Bo Young and Jinyoung sat down for an interview. Park Bo Young was asked how similar she is to the roles of Mi Ji and Mi Rae. She replied, “I wish I had more of Mi Ji’s bold and cheerful personality, but these days, I think I’m becoming more like Mi Rae—quiet and calm.”</p>

Ho Su’s pain was just expressed a little more vividly and intensely, but when acting, I tried to understand it as a normal human emotion.”</p>
<p>Regarding a line from the drama that left a deep impression, Park Bo Young chose her character’s grandmother’s words: “Anything you do to survive is courageous.” Jinyoung chose a line that Han Se Jin’s (Ryu Kyung Soo’s) grandfather says to Se Jin, “Why are you trying to go all the way to the last stop? <p>Regarding the occupational breach of trust case that HYBE filed last year against former CEO Min Hee Jin and others, which was decided to not be forwarded to the prosecution, our company plans to immediately file an objection with the prosecution today.</p>
<p>Since the police investigation, new developments have occurred, such as the NewJeans members declaring the termination of their contracts. In addition, numerous new pieces of evidence have been submitted in related court proceedings, and based on these, the court has taken a very serious view of former CEO Min Hee Jin’s actions. The appellate court handling the injunction (Seoul High Court) determined that Min Hee Jin “is in a position of intentionally destroying the integrated structure that was the premise of the exclusive contract.” Accordingly, we intend to contest the non-indictment decision through the objection process.</p>
<p>Furthermore, regarding the case in which Min Hee Jin and others filed complaints last July against five members of HYBE’s management for occupational breach of trust and violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation), the investigative authorities have decided not to forward to the prosecution, finding no charges. The authorities determined that HYBE’s claims “are not easily regarded as false,” “do not appear to have been made with the intent to slander, as they concern the public interest,” and that “the KakaoTalk conversations were obtained through legitimate authority during the audit process.”</p>
<p>Additionally, we would like to inform you that all indiscriminate complaints and accusations filed by Min Hee Jin and her associates against HYBE and its affiliates’ executives and employees have also resulted in decisions of not being forwarded to the prosecution:</p>
<ul>
<li>The case in which Min Hee Jin accused BELIFT LAB’s management and creative directors of defamation and false accusation</li>
<li>The case in which Team Bunnies accused BELIFT LAB’s management of violating the Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation)</li>
<li>The case in which Shin Woo Seok, CEO of Dolphiners Films, accused the current management of ADOR of violating the Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation)</li>

<p>All of these cases have either not been forwarded to the prosecution or dismissed.</p>

<p>IVE took second place for July with a brand reputation index of 5,091,757, marking a 1.88 percent rise in their score since last month.</p>
<p>TWICE jumped to third place with a brand reputation index of 3,983,562, marking a 33.94 percent increase in their score since June.</p>
<p>Red Velvet came in at a close fourth with a brand reputation index of 3,618,989, marking a 17.78 percent rise in their score since last month.</p>
<p>Finally, OH MY GIRL rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 2,427,175, marking a 4.09 percent increase in their score since June.</p>

<p>On July 14, it was confirmed that Kang Seo Ha passed away after battling cancer.</p>
<p>The late Kang Seo Ha’s memorial altar has been set up in Room 8 of the funeral hall at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. The funeral procession will take place at 7:40 a.m. on July 16, and her final resting place will be the family burial site in Haman, Gyeongnam Province.</p>
<p>On July 13, a presumed family member posted a video filled with moments of Kang Seo Ha during her lifetime. In the post, she wrote, “I still can’t believe it, <em>unnie</em>. Even while enduring such immense pain, you worried about those around you and about me. Even though you couldn’t eat for months, you insisted on paying for my meals with your own card and never let me skip a meal. My angel, who left us far too soon. Even as you endured everything with painkillers, you said you were grateful that it wasn’t worse, and I felt truly ashamed. My dear sister, you went through so much. I hope you are only happy and free from pain where you are now!”</p>

Kim Dae Hee, a close friend of Kim Joon Ho and a senior to Kim Ji Min, drew attention by walking the bride down the aisle in place of her late father. Dressed in his “Kkondae-hee” character, Kim Dae Hee read the wedding declaration, adding both laughter and emotion to the event.</p>

<p>The new boy group consists of the five members Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho, and the group is gearing up to debut next month on August 18. As a “young creator crew,” they will personally create music, choreography , and videos based on their fresh and unique artistic abilities. The five members are all teenagers who will showcase their creativity in various fields including composing, writing lyrics, performance, videography, and more based on their personal stories. Rather than be boxed into traditional positions, they will work together as “co-creators.”</p>
<p>Previously, the members also participated in the creation of music and choreography of HYBE artists. Martin is one of the creators credited on songs such as TXT’s “Deja Vu,” “Miracle,” and “Beautiful Strangers” as well as ENHYPEN’s “Outside,” LE SSERAFIM’s “Pierrot,” and ILLIT’s “Magnetic.” James also participated in the choreography for “Deja Vu,” “Magnetic,” “Cherish (My Love),” and “Tick-Tack” as well as the production of the songs “Deja Vu,” “Miracle,” and “Magnetic” together with Martin.</p>

<p>On July 11, donation platform The Direct Donation revealed that Doyoung had donated 100 million won (approximately $72,700) to help children in need of protection and youth preparing to leave child welfare facilities.</p>
<p>Last month, during a comeback interview for his second solo album “Soar,” Doyoung pledged that he would make a donation if he won first place on a music show.</p>

<p>Doyoung went on to win no less than three music shows with his title track “<a target="_blank" href="https://www.soompi.com/article/1745677wpp/watch-ncts-doyoung-reveals-comeback-schedule-for-2nd-solo-album-soar">Memory</a>,” and he has since kept his promise to his fans.</p>
<p>“Thanks to the love of my Cizennies [a nickname for NCT’s fandom NCTzens], I received the precious gift of first place, and I’m truly grateful to be able to keep my meaningful pledge of making a donation,” said Doyoung.</p>

<p>Taeil has received his prison sentence following his first hearing.</p>

<p>However, the court rejected this, stating,&nbsp;“Since the confession came after the search and seizure of the defendant, it cannot be considered voluntary surrender and thus does not warrant sentence reduction.”</p>
<p>When the judge asked whether the defendants had any comments regarding the arrest, Taeil did not speak.</p>
<p>The charges stem from an incident in June of last year, when Taeil and his accomplices <a target="_blank" href="https://www.soompi.com/article/1693275wpp/sm-entertainment-briefly-comments-regarding-new-report-on-taeils-case">allegedly</a> sexually assaulted an intoxicated foreign woman while she was in a state of unconsciousness.</p>

<p>The CMIDC suspects that Bang Si Hyuk and three senior executives, along with one aide, set up a private equity fund.</p>

<p>Bang Si Hyuk reportedly profited approximately 200 billion won (approximately $146 million) after falsely stating that HYBE had no plans to go public, leading existing investors to sell their shares.</p>

<p>MEOVV’s Anna topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 354,076, marking an 82.67 percent increase in her score since June.</p>

<p>High-ranking phrases in her keyword analysis included “Teddy,” “cat,” and “<em>sunji haejang</em> soup,” while her highest-ranking related terms included “lovely,” “pretty,” and “good eater.” Anna’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 88.91 percent positive reactions.</p>
<p>ILLIT’s Wonhee rose to second place with a brand reputation index of 325,376, marking a 63.88 percent increase in her score since last month.</p>
<p>KiiiKiii’s Jiyu held onto her spot at third place with a brand reputation index of 282,640, marking a 35.40 percent rise in her score since June.</p>
<p>izna’s Yoon Jiyoon took fourth place with a brand reputation index of 238,640, marking a 50.07 percent rise in her score since last month.</p>
<p>Finally, ILLIT’s Minju came in at a close fifth with a brand reputation index of 234,752, marking an 8.37 percent increase in her score since June.</p>

<html><head></head><body><p>Actress Lee Si Young, who recently went through a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.soompi.com/article/1730412wpp/lee-si-young-announces-divorce-after-8-years-of-marriage">divorce</a>, has announced that she is currently pregnant.</p>
<p>On July 8, Lee Si Young took to her personal Instagram account to share her pregnancy as below:</p>

<p>I am currently pregnant.</p>

The reason I am taking this opportunity to tell you first is because I believe it is better to prevent any misunderstandings or speculation that may arise in the future.</p>
<p>Eight years ago, when I was expecting Jeong Yoon (Lee Si Young’s first child), who is now the most precious being in my life, I was not yet married and was filming a drama at the time.</p>

<p><br>
Back then, I was younger and much less mature than I am now.</p>

<p><br>
And as I watched Jeong Yoon grow year by year in my arms, I spent a long time regretting and blaming myself for the moments I spent with anxiety and negativity, even if only briefly.</p>

<p><br>
Because of that, I promised myself that if I were ever blessed with another baby, I would never repeat those same regrets.</p>
<p>During my marriage, I prepared for a second child through IVF treatment.</p>

<p><br>
However, a long time passed without actually having the fertilized embryo implanted, and naturally, discussions about divorce also began to take place.</p>

<p><br>
Around the time when all legal matters were being settled, the five-year storage period for the frozen embryo was coming to an end, and I was faced with a decision.</p>

<p>Just before the embryo was to be discarded, I made the decision myself to have it implanted.</p>

<p><br>
Although the other party did not agree, I intend to fully bear the weight of the decision I made.</p>
<p>I have always longed for a child, and I never wanted to repeat the regrets I felt with Jeong Yoon.</p>

<p>I simply could not bring myself to discard the embryo whose storage period was about to end.</p>
<p>Even during the difficult times in my marriage, the only thing that kept me going was the presence of my angelic child, who filled my life with happiness, hope, and inspiration.</p>

<p><br>
It is because of this miracle of a child, who makes me feel that being called “Mom” is the very reason for my existence.</p>
<p>There may be many challenges ahead, and I have considered all the possible scenarios, but even so, I want to believe that the choice I am making now is the more meaningful one.</p>

<p><br>
I also believe that this decision will be a significant one in my life.</p>

<p><br>
Looking back, what has always been most precious to me has been my child.</p>

<p><br>
Through these miraculous moments that fill the gaps in my imperfect life and give me strength I never knew I had, I feel that my life is finally becoming more complete, little by little.</p>
