IVE’s Jang Won Young has donated to a meaningful cause! On February 11, Severance Hospital announced that Jang Won Young donated 200 million won (approximately $137,320) to the hospital to support treatment for pediatric and adolescent patients. It was reported that she decided to make the donation in the hope of having a positive impact on the treatment and recovery of children her age and of helping them grow together in the future. 100 million won of the donation will be used for the Severance Children’s Hospital development fund, while the other 100 million won will be used for the Gangnam Severance Hospital Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine development fund. On February 11, BAE173’s agency PocketDol Studio released an official statement saying, “Our exclusive contract with Hangyul will end on February 28. It was a precious journey together, as we spent a long period of about 10 years side by side and watched each other grow. We sincerely thank Hangyul for quietly giving his passion and doing his best all this time. Although our exclusive contract is coming to an end, we will wholeheartedly support Hangyul’s new activities and challenges moving forward.” CEO Kim Kwang Soo remarked, “Hangyul is a friend who has always stood firmly by my side—whether the company was doing well or not, whether good things happened or sad things occurred. To me, he has been a precious person who, at different times, became a companion, a friend, and a younger brother. I sincerely thank him and feel deeply grateful that he stayed with us for such a long time.” He also said, “I’ve watched many artists over the past 41 years, but it’s not easy to find someone like Hangyul, who quietly holds his place and shows true sincerity. He later carried out pre-debut activities as H&D, a unit made up of Hangyul and Nam Dohyon, and then officially debuted as a member of BAE173 on November 19, 2020. BTS, IZ*ONE, TWICE's MISAMO, And aespa's Karina Earn RIAJ Platinum And Gold Certifications For Streaming In Japan

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications! In 2020, the RIAJ implemented a new certification system for online streaming of songs, as an addition to its pre-existing certification systems for physical album shipments and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver once they reach 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams. This month, BTS’s 2022 title track “Yet To Come,” IZ*ONE’s 2020 hit “Panorama,” and TWICE’s MISAMO’s 2024 song “NEW LOOK” were all certified platinum for surpassing 100 million streams each in Japan. Meanwhile, BTS’s 2018 B-side “Love Maze” and aespa’s Karina’s solo song “UP” were both certified gold after surpassing 50 million streams each in Japan. Congratulations to all of the artists!
