Watch: Lee Chae Min Is Drawn To His Mysterious New Chef Lim Yoona In "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" Highlight Teaser
tvN’s upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” has unveiled a new highlight teaser! Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Lim Yoona as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet. Kang Han Na will play Lee Heon’s trusted but ruthless concubine Kang Mok Joo. The highlight teaser tells the story of Yeon Ji Young, who goes from being a French chef to a royal head chef serving the tyrant king Lee Heon. Originally a restaurant chef in Paris, Ji Young is suddenly transported to the past, where she is forced to take on the role of royal head chef under King Lee Heon’s command. Yeon Ji Young, who once dreamed of becoming a three-star restaurant chef, suddenly finds herself serving the tyrant. She uses all her skills to create dishes that can impress Lee Heon, a gourmet who can detect even the slightest difference in flavor. From King Lee Heon to Grand Prince Jesan (Choi Gwi Hwa)—the late king’s half-brother and uncle to King Lee Heon—everyone is astonished by Ji Young’s cooking, which uses unfamiliar ingredients yet delivers extraordinary taste. As Ji Young earns the king’s favor with her unique cooking style, the atmosphere in the palace becomes tense. The king’s favored concubine, Kang Mok Joo, openly shows hostility toward Ji Young and even orders something to be slipped into her food. To make matters worse, Ji Young also becomes the target of Grand Prince Jesan. In one scene, Queen Dowager Injoo (Seo Yi Sook) warns her of a terrifying price she will have to pay, while in another, the treacherous official Im Song Jae (Oh Eui Shik) ominously declares that survival will not be easy for her. Amidst the growing threats, King Lee Heon’s attitude toward Ji Young gradually begins to change. Not only does he step in to protect her from danger, but he also starts to be drawn to her. In one scene, he even tells her, “Show me a new dish, one that’s truly yours.” The teaser ends with Ji Young’s determined words, “No matter what, I’ll make it back alive.” Watch the teaser below! “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” will premiere on August 23 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
ADOR Appoints New CEO
HYBE subsidiary ADOR has appointed a new CEO. On August 20, the label revealed that Vice President Lee Do Kyung has been appointed as its new CEO. Explaining the decision, ADOR stated, “This move is intended to further strengthen the label’s operations as a company dedicated to planning and managing artists’ activities, including albums and concerts.” Previously, in August of last year, ADOR appointed HR specialist Kim Joo Young as CEO in order to separate production and management and stabilize its organizational structure through appropriate personnel restructuring. With those goals now accomplished, the board has chosen to shift toward a system that can more swiftly support artist activities and business growth—entrusting the role to a leader with hands-on expertise in label management. The newly appointed CEO, Lee Do Kyung, joined HYBE (formerly Big Hit Entertainment) in 2019, where she helped shape the company’s vision and business strategy while spearheading new ventures. In 2022, she served as Vice President of HYBE Music Group’s IPX Business Division, which focuses on expanding artist IP–based businesses, playing a key role in advancing solutions that leverage artist IP. Her track record also includes overseeing HYBE Music Group’s entire merchandise, pop-up store, and light stick businesses, as well as leading THE CITY project—a large-scale collaboration that applied artist IP across entire cities where concerts were held, offering fans immersive experiences beyond the stage.
Choi Jung Won Personally Speaks Up Regarding Recent Allegations Involving Girlfriend
Choi Jung Won, a former member of the duo UN, has personally addressed stalking allegations. On August 19, Seoul’s Jungbu Police Station said Choi Jung Won was booked on August 16 on suspicion of violating the Stalking Crime Punishment Act. Police then requested an emergency restraining order from the court, which was approved. On August 20, Choi Jung Won posted a lengthy statement on his social media account. Read the full statement below: Hello, this is Choi Jung Won. The report released yesterday was about a personal conflict between my girlfriend and me, and it was essentially a minor quarrel that escalated into a misunderstanding. In the heat of the moment, there was room for misinterpretation, and as a result, the situation was reported in a way that did not reflect the facts. I deeply regret that. The phrase “my girlfriend’s revelation,” which appeared in some reports, also comes from misunderstanding and does not match the facts. The claim that I threatened her with a weapon or that I engaged in stalking is completely false. Both my girlfriend and I firmly deny those allegations. I plan to take strong action against such false information. I sincerely apologize again that my personal life caused misunderstanding and that it led to troubling news. From now on, I will act with greater caution and with responsibility. I am sorry.
