Red Velvet's Irene To Make 1st-Ever Solo Comeback In March
It’s official: Red Velvet’s Irene is making her first solo comeback! On February 27, SM Entertainment confirmed reports that Irene was gearing up for a return next month. “Irene is currently preparing with the goal of a comeback in late March,” said the agency. “Please give [her comeback] lots of interest.” According to an unconfirmed report by Xportsnews, Irene—who made her solo debut in November 2024—is planning to return with her first full-length album. LE SSERAFIM, TWICE, BABYMONSTER, And HUNTR/X Earn RIAJ Platinum Certifications For Streaming In Japan
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications! In 2020, the RIAJ implemented a new certification system for online streaming of songs, as an addition to its pre-existing certification systems for physical album shipments and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver once they reach 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams. This month, LE SSERAFIM earned a double platinum certification for their 2023 hit “Perfect Night,” which has now surpassed 200 million streams in Japan. Meanwhile, TWICE earned two separate platinum certifications for their 2017 Korean title track “Heart Shaker” and their 2023 English single “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE,” both of which have surpassed 100 million streams each in Japan. Finally, BABYMONSTER’s 2024 Korean hit “DRIP” and HUNTR/X’s “Golden” (from the soundtrack of the popular animated film “KPop Demon Hunters”) have also been certified platinum for surpassing 100 million streams each in Japan. Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has revealed its chart rankings for the week of February 8 to 14! Album Chart ATEEZ maintained their double crown on the Circle charts this week, topping both the physical album chart and the digital download chart for the second week in a row. The group’s new mini album “GOLDEN HOUR : Part.4” once again swept the top two spots on the physical album chart, where the POCA version of the EP took No. 1 and the regular version charted separately at No. 2. CORTIS’s debut EP “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” climbed back up to No. 3 for the week, trailed by SEVENTEEN’s DxS’s “Serenade” at No. 4 and Jeong Dong Won’s “Collection of Props Vol.2” at No. 5. Download Chart ATEEZ successfully held onto the top spot of the digital download chart, where their latest title track “Adrenaline” remained No. 1. IVE’s latest comeback is off to a chart-topping start! On February 23 at 6 p.m. KST, IVE made their highly-anticipated comeback with their new full-length album “REVIVE+” and its accompanying title track “BLACKHOLE.” Immediately upon its release, both the album and its title track shot to the top of music charts in various countries across the globe. As of 1 p.m. KST on February 24, IVE’s music video for “BLACKHOLE” had reached No. 1 on YouTube’s worldwide list of Top Trending Music Videos. The music video had already hit No. 1 in at least nine different regions, including South Korea, France, Canada, and Russia, in addition to entering the top 10 in at least 23 regions. Meanwhile, “REVIVE+” had aready reached No. 1 on iTunes Top K-Pop Albums charts in at least 15 different regions around the world. Around the same time, IVE’s pre-release track “BANG BANG” became the first song of 2026 to achieve a perfect all-kill on the Korean music charts, making IVE the first girl group ever to score a perfect all-kill with six different songs.
