It’s that time of the year again—International K-Drama Day is coming! Global OTT platform Rakuten Viki’s third annual International K-Drama Day is set to take place on September 26 this year. In celebration of the campaign, Viki has prepared drama collections for fans to binge each week based on popular genres from romance to melodrama, thriller, and more. The first collection features romance, and here are 10 dramas from the collection to watch to celebrate K-Drama Day! “Descendants of the Sun” In the worldwide hit “Descendants of the Sun,” Song Joong Ki stars as special forces unit captain Yoo Shi Jin who falls in love with the doctor Kang Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo). Based on a bestselling novel by Maha Harada, Channel A’s “My Lovely Journey” is a drama starring Gong Seung Yeon as Kang Yeo Reum, a former idol-turned-travel reporter who has never been a “center” in her life. As she takes on travel assignments on behalf of others, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, coming to understand the true meaning of success and life. In the upcoming episode, Kang Yeo Reum and Oh Sang Sik (Yu Jun Sang) will face an unlikely person as their fourth client. Their next client is none other than chairman Sung Yi Hwa (Nam Ki Ae), a living legend in the beauty industry who is linked with a painful past that Yeo Reum cannot forget. Her appearance will add tension to the drama, leading to unexpected developments. MBN’s upcoming drama “The First Lady” has released a suspenseful new trailer! “The First Lady” tells the shocking story of a president-elect who suddenly demands a divorce from his wife 67 days before his inauguration. Eugene stars as Cha Soo Yeon, a kingmaker who is about to become the first lady when her husband Hyun Min Chul (Ji Hyun Woo), who has just been elected president, turns her world upside down by asking for a divorce. Ji Hyun Woo will star as Hyun Min Chul, who rises from factory worker to the highest office in the nation, while Lee Min Young will play his closest aide Shin Hae Rin. The new trailer begins with Cha Soo Yeon and Hyun Min Chul triumphantly holding hands on stage after he wins the presidential election. However, their expressions harden immediately after his victory, hinting at trouble in their marriage. Cha Soo Yeon declares in voice-over, “What I want is half of everything that that person obtained because of me.” When someone warns her that she’s going up against the president as her opponent, she confidently replies, “I’m the one who made him president.
