NO TIME TO WAIT, THE PASSION IS SO GREAT !! Wow, the " Master of Romance" is back🥰!! I'm glad JKY returned to rom-com, as his last drama, "Atypical Family," portrayed a more serious and depressed role."Dynamite Kiss" is a welcome return to the romantic comedy genre that made Jang Ki- young a global favorite in shows like "My Roommate Is a Gumiho." This newest drama, in which he plays the "Ice Prince melted by a lie," truly gives his fans the charismatic, intense, yet sweet romantic lead we missed! The genre of "Dynamite Kiss" is exactly what I was missing for his rom-com return, showcasing his strength and making for a fantastic comeback for him in the romance department.Again Wow, the first episode already gives the viewer an explosive dynamite kiss! The one that Jang Ki-young initiated definitely sealed the first episode with excitement and made us, the audience, engage and anticipate the upcoming episodes! The structure of having the major kiss happen so early is what makes Dynamite Kiss drama so compelling from the start. It's a great twist on the usual K-drama formula where you wait ten episodes for the first kiss. Both JKY and AEJ's chemistry is explosive🔥!!The first episode does a great job of immediately setting up the main romantic premise and the central comedic lie. It's a series that focuses on the chaos and genuine emotion that arises when an impulsive kiss forces two people into a complicated situation, which I think will result in a secret romance later built on a misunderstanding.I knew that some dramas that have passionate beginnings often lead to tragic endings, However, I have a feeling that " Dynamite Kiss" is one of those few exceptions and will likely end happily. Its just my perception."Dynamite Kiss*" is a pure romantic comedy. Unlike melodramas, rom-coms are fundamentally more structured around a guaranteed "happily ever after" (or at least a satisfying one). The conflicts must be external (the lie, the misunderstanding, the ex-rivals) rather than internal/existential (terminal illness, irreversible separation). The title itself, Dynamite Kiss, is the hook and the central comedic premise. So it makes sense why the initial episode requires the passionate scene, as it is the punchline of the story. The tone is set for lighthearted fun, despite the high-stakes lie.As for the female lead , Ahn Eon-jin is perfect for this character. She brings the perfect balance of sunshine, desperation, and quick-witted charm needed to make the entire premise believable and endearing. She excels at playing characters who are resilient and highly relatable, often facing real-world struggles (like job insecurity). Her panicked energy and reactions to Gong Ji-byuk's intensity are the source of most of the show's comedy. She knows exactly how to play the frantic, lovable underdog. While JKY brings the intensity, AEJ brings the warmth and chaos that effectively melts his Ice Prince facade. The explosive chemistry is a two-way street. She is an excellent scene partner for him who can match his dramatic flair with her own brand of charming spontaneity. She has truly shown her versatility in recent years in acting.Jang Ki-young himself revealed in one of his interviews about this drama that there a lot of kissing scenes ( more than 10, maybe 20) and urged couple to watch and AEJ even rrvealed too that there was an uns ripted kissing scenes in this drama, a significant that the drama is prioritizing the physical and emotional intensity that make their romantic performances shine. The production team explicity stated they picked JKY on this project because he is the perfect " romance master" and expected him to spark a Dynamite Kiss Syndrome."🥰I'm looking forward for the many kisses in upcoming episodes. And how both the main leads navigate each conscious, hidden problem—ML's dilemma of loving "someone's wife" and FL's dilemma of how much she can maintain her lie as a "fake" married woman with a baby for the sake of keeping a job.10/10 for a starting episode, as it has a strong, vivid introduction!

Fantastic romcom chemistry I have repeatedly said in my reviews that I take the MDL ratings with a huge pinch of salt because this platform is distinctively skewed towards younger viewers who love idol romance-melo dramas. Here I'm proved right again.============Spoiler starts================This drama has SO many tropes that I've lost count. Super handsome chaebol/rich male lead falls in love with very poor girl who isn't that pretty, except after he pays a lot of money to dress her up. Somehow he loses contact with her after a fascinating love-at-first-sight encounter and somehow she ends up in - no surprises - his company and works as his employee. They are continually thwarted by a rich girl he's force by his family to marry and his rich family. What happens next is no one's guess. ===========Spoiler ends=================Such tropes are at least 25 years old, aka so last century. YET despite that, I am STILL watching this drama. Because the leads are great and their chemistry is SIZZLING. I have been following Ahn Eun Jin in all her dramas and even Jang Ki Yong. Despite his model background and stiff start to his acting career, he's improving by leaps and bounds with each drama. He still has a long way to go compared to Ahn Eun Jin but he is making good process. Of course, his pretty face certainly helps. If this is even remotely like the very cheesy yet super fun Business Proposal that celebrated and really hemmed up such tropes, I am in for a treat! I am certainly looking forward to the rest of the season!

This Is How You Do a Classic Rom-Com: A Vintage Hollywood Approach “You think Dynamite Kiss is just another ordinary K-drama? Another predictable cliché?It isn’t.This drama is actually built like a classic Hollywood rom-com from the 1940s, 50s and early 60s.The moment I realized it was in Episode 2, during the beach scene:the wide shot, the illuminated ocean, their silhouettes against nature, the soft violins, the gentle lighting on their faces. This is the visual language of old Hollywood, when cinematic distance meant emotional vulnerability.Films like From Here to Eternity, An Affair to Remember, Roman Holiday, Letter From an Unknown Woman and The Long, Hot Summer used this exact grammar: romance told through space, light and silence. And then there’s the female lead.Ahn Eun-jin isn’t playing the typical K-drama heroine. She embodies a classic Hollywood archetype. She has Barbra Streisand’s energy —Funny Girl, What’s Up, Doc?—and the spirit of Marilyn Monroe the actress, not the sex symbol, the vulnerable and spontaneous woman from Bus Stop (1956) and Let’s Make Love (1960).Simple, honest, emotional. No poses. No masks.A natural light that melts the cold male lead without even trying.Watch those films and you’ll see exactly what I mean.Dynamite Kiss is pure vintage romance disguised as a modern K-drama.”

Has the best pilot episode for RomCom Kdrama in 2025 The first episode is insanely good, and interesting. The two leads have this amazing chemistry together; every scene with them feels electric and totally natural. The male lead is super charming—he draws you in without even trying, like he's got this easy magnetism. The female lead matches him perfectly with her lively energy and sweet vibe, balancing his cool style in the best way. As they share the screen, the sparks fly, their interactions crackling with a palpable energy that's both intoxicating and believable. I'm hooked, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

One of the Best 1st Eps of a K-Drama I’ve Seen!

One of the Best 1st Eps of a K-Drama I’ve Seen! I often fast forward the 1st episode of a KDrama impatient for the story to get going. Not for Dynamite Kiss! What a start to a series! The episode was fantastic. The chemistry between the ml and fl is SO good! I honestly wasn’t a big fan of the fl in My Dearest but she’s so charming and funny here, and when she appears in the expensive dress and all made up, I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful and elegant she looked! Wow. I couldn’t keep my eyes off her during the entire party scene. But it’s really about the chemistry and I can’t wait to see more of their interactions in the upcoming episodes!

So much Sexual Tension! Seriously! There is more sexual tension in this one episode than I have seen in whole dramas. Jang Ki-young is a MASTER at seduction and he knows all the right buttons to push. I should have known this would be good after watching that incredible kiss from My Roommate is a Gumiho, and he does NOT disappoint. I can’t wait for the next episode to come out and see where this story goes. If this ends up a “Lovers to friends” series where the tension dies out and the best kiss was in the first episode it will be a tragedy!

Looks like we are finally back in the old Kdrama e...

Looks like we are finally back in the old Kdrama era The first thing that came to my mind while watching the drama was- it was giving old Kdrama vibes. It was pure nostalgia as if I was rewatching all those dramas that introduced me to this whole new world decades ago. If I could compare it to more recent drama then 'The business proposal' is the closest one in terms of plot and fluffy rom-com feel. But it isn't the plot that will make to glued to it. It is the acting and chemistry of our main lead. They are so believable and relatable. It is that chaebol drama that you would initially think "Oh! I can guess the whole plot or it is so cliche, rich man poor woman...." but you will still watch it because it is so damn entertaining. The dialogues are hilarious, acting is just perfect, even over the top sort of scenes fall into the right place. Honestly this was the sort of vibe that I was missing badly from all the recent Kdramas. They were following more western style and sort of loosing their own essence in the race. (Though I can't complain about every single one of them. Some were exceptionally good but that is just my p.o.v. and one can have different opinion over it.) It is one of those kdramas that you can re-watch again and again without feeling a bit boredom.(Btw was I the only one who was taken aback for a moment because sml really looked like Jin.)

Finally a great Rom-Com! It's been a dreadful year for Kdramas... so much so that I find myself watching more and more Cdramas. Something has been lost in the world of Kdramas for the past year or more. The stories are flat and uninspiring, and I just cannot bring myself to suffer through the majority of them.I love both of these actors so I decided to give them one a chance, and I am so happy I did. I am 2 episodes in, and have high hopes for this one. It has strong Cinderella vibes and I am always a sucker for that trope. ✨️ So far the chemistry between our lead couple is through the roof, and the storyline is intriguing enough to have me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode to release. Here is to hoping the writers manage to keep this up for the next 12 episodes!

A Cinderella Story At first I wasn't liking it to the point that I was going to stop watching but I thought I'd stick it out at least one episode just for Jang Ki Yong's beauty, the man is not the best actor, but he sure is nice to look at. I'm glad I did because he he turned from cold to silly I laughed so hard and kept laughing as the plot got more and more ridiculous. Kong Ji Hyeok reminds me so so much of Kang doojoon's Positively yours, they're basically the same person in different universes and to be honest I'd actually be excited if Jang Kiyong had cast to play him un the upcoming adaptation. Too much rambling about unrelated things, back to dynamite kiss. The second episode was a dream, just perfect scene after perfect scene, the chemistry between the leads the beautiful scenery almost too good to be true until it wasn't as in every romcom kdrama a misunderstanding has to happen to move the plot along, I mean how hard is it to take a minute and knock on that bathroom door? That would be expecting too much from an already pretty dumb plot. I don't know if I like it but I don't hate either, it's just another shut of your brain and enjoy the silliness drama it is pretty funny and I like the leads a lot so as long as the misunderstanding doesn't drag too long and the can keep me laughing I see myself staying for the remainder of the series.

The tenderness. The happiness. The wow factor. The tension!! Spoiler free!!The tenderness. The happiness. The wow factor. The tension! Is definitely worth it watching at least this first two episodes. We can see where the things are going, but the way is being presented is simply chefs kiss. I’m really enjoying the delivery of all these tropes. The references are nice and make sense. I can feel the build up and the connections between the characters by their storylines. Is exaggerated? In the same way is a drama, but the actions have a reason. Seeing a healthy relationship is definitely awsome. The ~sharps and shreds is present because miscommunication and misunderstandings. But hey at this point, we are here for it!! Can’t wait for the whole series to drop and update the review. To see if the grade will stand ;)

The chemistry between these two is chef’s kiss So far this is a 10 for me. I knew going into this putting Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-Jin together you couldn’t go wrong with.My dearest showcased the depth of Eun-jin ‘s acting skills and solidified her as being one of my favorites.I first saw Ki-yong in Atypical Family but really fell in love with him in My Roommate Is A Gumiho. His kiss scenes are some of the best I’ve seen.I rewound several scenes from Dynamite Kiss just for the pure chemistry between these too and to see more of Ki-yong’s perfect kissing. Also, if you’ve never seen him smile…you’re missing out on life. So far from what I’ve seen I would HIGHLY recommend this drama if you like rom-coms.
